Chicken wing calculator
Add at least one person and Walt will run the numbers.
How many wings per person?
Walt starts at about 10 bone-in wings per adult when wings are the main meal, 6 when they're part of a spread, and 4 as an appetizer. Boneless runs a little higher — 12, 7, and 5. Kids eat roughly half. From there he adjusts for appetite and leftovers, then rounds to a number you can actually order.
One "wing" here means one party-wing piece — a single flat or drumette. Bone-in packs about 8–10 pieces per pound; boneless about 18–20. Wing size varies by supplier, so the pound range is an estimate, not a promise.
